Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Marubeni"), in commemoration with its 70th anniversary of its Yangon branch and as a part of social contribution to Myanmar, will donate 300,000 U.S. dollars to establish the Marubeni Myanmar Scholarship Program.

The Marubeni Myanmar Scholarship Program will award scholarships to students from among 61 universities operated by the Ministry of Science and Technology, who show good performance but need financial support.

On October 12th, Marubeni's Teruo Asada, President and CEO, presented the donation certificate to H.E. U Ko Ko Oo, Minister for Science and Technology, at Marubeni's 70th anniversary party held in Yangon.

Marubeni first established a Scholarship Fund in the Philippines in 1989, and Myanmar is to be the sixth ASEAN country after Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

Marubeni, as a member of the international community, will continue strengthening ties with ASEAN countries, and promise to practice a variety of social contribution activities.
