GHG Emissions Trading

Features of Marubeni's GHG Emission business

• As of September 30 2011, the number of Marubeni’s projects that were approved by the Japanese Government counts up to 67. We have acquired over 86 million ton of greenhouse emission gas credits (during 2008 to 2012 , contract base), and have sold to many types of vendors.

• By organizing and managing GHG emission reduction projects in overseas, founding and managing Special Purpose Company with aim to reduce GHG, we acquire CERs and sell them to CER buyers in Japan or the EU countries.

• We are the only General Trading Company that is providing credits to the Japanese Government.
(From 2006 to 2008, we have received an order of total of 6.9 million ton. As of CER, we have total share of 27%)

• We are the only Japanese company that is joining the European Climate Exchange. We are also joining the International Emissions Trading Association. We are acting actively in the international emissions trading market.
